PM Modi to Inaugurate Summit; French President Macron Among Foreign Dignitaries in Attendance

Delhi commuters are bracing for a third consecutive day of severe traffic disruptions as the AI Impact Summit 2026 continues at Bharat Mandapam on Thursday, February 19. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a fresh advisory warning of heavy VIP movement, particularly during afternoon and evening hours.

Roads Paralysed Across Central and South Delhi

The past two days have seen near-paralysis on major arterials, with approximately 50 VIP convoy routes carved out as 22 heads of state descended on the capital. Stretches including Mathura Road, Lodhi Road, AIIMS Flyover, Connaught Place, and Nizamuddin bore the worst of the gridlock, leaving commuters stranded for up to three hours. Some reported missing flights and trains; others walked kilometres due to road closures.

What to Avoid And Where to Go Instead

Key roads likely to remain restricted include Sardar Patel Marg, Janpath, Akbar Road, and Shanti Path. Authorities recommend alternate routes via Aurobindo Marg, Ring Road, Barapullah Road, Lodhi Road, and Tilak Marg.
