MEA issues emergency advisory as Israeli-US strikes on Tehran escalate regional war fears
NEW DELHI ,February 28, 2026 -India’s Ministry of External Affairs issued an urgent advisory Saturday for all Indian nationals in Israel, hours after Israeli and US forces launched coordinated strikes on Tehran.
The MEA directed citizens to “exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant at all times,” strictly follow Israeli Home Front Command guidelines, and stay close to designated bomb shelters. All non-essential travel within Israel has been strongly discouraged until further notice.
Indians are urged to monitor emergency alerts via Israel’s official civil defence portal at oref.org.il and stay tuned to local news channels continuously.
The Embassy of India in Tel Aviv has activated a 24×7 emergency helpline at +972-54-7520711 and email cons1.telaviv@mea.gov.in for distress calls.
With Iranian retaliation considered imminent, the situation remains critically fluid.
