Flags off Ladakh U-17 Boxing Team for National School Games; assures continued support for grassroots sports development
Kargil, October 22, 2025: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, today flagged off the Ladakh Under-17 Boxing Team for the National School Games 2025, scheduled to be held in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, from October 28 to November 3. Felicitating the young boxers with traditional khataks, he extended his best wishes for their success on the national stage.
Addressing the gathering, LG Gupta urged the youth of Ladakh to cultivate a lifelong passion for sports and maintain discipline in every aspect of life. He highlighted that sports not only promote physical fitness but also build character, resilience, teamwork, and leadership — essential traits for personal and professional growth. “Representing Ladakh at the national level is an honour and a responsibility. Compete with integrity and make your region proud,” he told the athletes.
Acknowledging the efforts of the Youth Services and Sports Department, coaches, and mentors, the LG assured that the UT Administration is committed to enhancing sports infrastructure and nurturing young talent across Ladakh. He emphasized that a disciplined lifestyle balanced with academics and sports fosters confidence and self-reliance among youth vital for the progress of Ladakh.
