TMC’s 10-pledge document promises women more cash, jobs for youth, a ₹30,000 crore farm budget and accuses BJP of plotting to dismember West Bengal

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday unveiled Trinamool Congress’s election manifesto a sweeping 10-pledge document promising to deepen the state’s vast welfare architecture while firing pointed salvos at the BJP-led Centre.
The manifesto’s centrepiece is women’s empowerment: monthly assistance under the popular Lakshmir Bhandar scheme rises by ₹500, reaching ₹1,500 for general category women and ₹1,700 for SC/ST beneficiaries. Unemployed youth will receive ₹1,500 monthly under the new Banglar Yuba-Sathi scheme.
Other pledges include a ₹30,000 crore agriculture budget, pucca housing for all families, universal piped water, annual Duare Chikitsa health camps, upgraded government schools, and expanded pension coverage for widows and senior citizens. TMC also targets positioning Bengal as India’s third-largest economy within a decade, anchored by a proposed Global Trade Centre and expanded port infrastructure.
Banerjee, however, sharpened her political attack, alleging BJP had imposed “undeclared President’s Rule” and was conspiring to carve north Bengal into a separate state , charges BJP swiftly dismissed as baseless electoral scaremongering.
