Marking his 12th consecutive Diwali with soldiers, the Prime Minister joins naval officers to celebrate Operation Sindoor’s success.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his tradition of celebrating Diwali with India’s armed forces for the 12th year in a row, this time joining Navy personnel aboard INS Vikrant off the Goa coast. According to reports, the Prime Minister participated in the celebrations marking the success of Operation Sindoor, symbolizing the spirit of courage and service of India’s maritime forces.

Official details of the visit are yet to be released, but visuals show the Prime Minister interacting with sailors and extending Diwali greetings to their families. Last year, Modi celebrated Diwali in Gujarat’s Kutch region, where he distributed sweets among personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and BSF.

Over the past decade, PM Modi has celebrated Diwali with troops in Jammu and Kashmir four times, Himachal Pradesh twice, and Kargil in 2022, where he paid tribute to the heroes of the 1999 war. His consistent outreach to soldiers on festive days underscores his message that “every soldier is part of my family.”
