Says morphed images and videos appear disturbingly realistic, highlights growing consent violations online

Actress Ayesha Khan has voiced serious concerns about the rampant misuse of artificial intelligence technology to create fake images and videos of celebrities. The performer, recognized for her appearance in Dhurandhar’s popular dance track “Shararat,” revealed she has encountered numerous morphed pictures of herself circulating on social media platforms.
Speaking in a recent interview with a journal, Khan described the situation as “very scary” and warned that AI manipulation has become dangerously normalized. She cited a particularly troubling instance where an AI-generated video depicted her embracing actor Vijay an interaction that never occurred in reality.
“You have made a whole app to sexualize women on the internet… I can’t humanly process this information that this is happening,” Khan stated, expressing her distress over the technology’s misuse. She noted that these fabricated images appear remarkably authentic, making it difficult for viewers to distinguish between real and AI-generated content.
The actress also addressed broader consent issues, criticizing paparazzi culture for capturing and publicly sharing unflattering moments without permission. “People don’t understand consent. You can’t do these things without asking,” she emphasized, highlighting the ethical concerns surrounding unauthorized content creation and distribution in the digital age.
