YRF spy universe’s first female-led film confirms theatrical release, silencing OTT rumours
The wait is nearly over. Alia Bhatt has officially announced that Alpha, the seventh chapter of YRF’s blockbuster spy universe, will hit theatres on July 10, 2026 putting persistent direct-to-digital rumours firmly to rest.
Bhatt unveiled the news through a striking first-look poster: her face framed by the Greek alpha symbol, bearing a shoulder gash, bruised lip, and cut eyebrow but with eyes that brook absolutely no argument. The internet predictably combusted.
Also starring Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, and directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is a landmark entry in the franchise that began with Ek Tha Tiger (2012) , this time placing two women at the centre of the action for the first time.
Bhatt’s slate remains formidable; Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, follows next.
