Family loyalty trumps party politics as expelled son backs sister against Tejashwi’s outsider advisor

Patna – The Lalu Prasad dynasty is imploding just months before Bihar assembly elections, with daughter Rohini Acharya unfollowing all family members including heir-apparent Tejashwi Yadav on social media and making her account private after cryptic posts questioning her treatment within the RJD.

Tej Pratap Yadav, already expelled from the party, issued a dramatic warning Saturday invoking Lord Krishna’s “Sudarshan Chakra” against anyone who dares insult his sister, escalating the family feud into mythological territory. “Whoever dares to insult her will have to face Krishna’s Sudarshan Chakra,” the theatrical politician declared, positioning himself as Rohini’s divine protector.

The Singapore-based daughter, who donated a kidney to save Lalu’s life in 2022, posted a defiant message stating “I have no desire for any position, nor do I have any political ambition. For me, my self-respect is supreme” before systematically cutting digital ties with the family’s political machinery.

The trigger appears to be Sanjay Yadav, Tejashwi’s Haryana-born advisor, occupying the front seat during the recent Bihar Adhikar Yatra – a position traditionally reserved for the political heir. This brazen breach of protocol by the outsider has exposed simmering resentments within the first family of Bihar politics.

Rohini’s discontent centers on the growing influence of Sanjay Yadav, whose proximity to Tejashwi has ruffled family feathers. The Rajya Sabha MP from Haryana has become a lightning rod for internal criticism, with even Tej Pratap previously labeling him a “migrant advisor.”

While Tejashwi dismissed the rift as “NDA propaganda,” the public nature of family discord has handed opposition parties ammunition ahead of crucial polls. The party that once projected unity under Lalu’s leadership now faces questions about succession planning and internal democracy.

Political observers note the timing couldn’t be worse for RJD, as rivals capitalize on visible cracks in what was once considered Bihar’s most cohesive political family.
