Delhi BJP and Swati Maliwal share aerial image of alleged “7-star bungalow”; AAP dismisses charges as “fake claim” and political vendetta

Chandigarh, October 31: A fresh political storm brewed on Friday after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accused Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal of using Punjab government resources to construct a lavish mansion in Chandigarh. Dubbed “Sheesh Mahal 2.0” by the BJP, the alleged residence has become the latest flashpoint between the two parties.

In a post on X, the Delhi BJP shared an aerial image of what it called a “luxurious 7-star, two-acre government bungalow” in Sector 2, Chandigarh, claiming it was allotted to Kejriwal from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s quota. “After vacating Delhi’s Sheesh Mahal, Punjab’s ‘Super CM’ Arvind Kejriwal has now prepared an even grander one,” the BJP wrote, accusing the AAP leader of hypocrisy for claiming to be an “aam aadmi.”

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal also posted a similar image, alleging that Kejriwal was using Punjab government aircraft for personal and party-related travel. “The entire Punjab government is engaged in serving one man,” she claimed.

However, AAP swiftly dismissed the allegations as “fake and desperate.” In its response, the party said the photo shared was of the Punjab CM’s camp office, not a private bungalow. “The Chandigarh administration is under the BJP,only they can construct anything there. Where is the allotment letter?” AAP posted, accusing the BJP of spreading misinformation to divert attention from national issues.

The controversy follows previous allegations over Kejriwal’s “Sheesh Mahal” residence in Delhi, where the BJP accused him of misusing public funds for lavish renovations.
