As Israeli strikes intensify across Iran, Indian nationals caught in the crossfire face mounting uncertainty

An Indian student in Iran’s Urmia city filmed a chilling video of a massive smoke plume rising near their location, as US and Israeli strikes continued pounding Iranian cities for a fourth consecutive day. With the death toll approaching 800, explosions rattled Tehran, Isfahan, and Tabriz, while key airports including Mehrabad and Bushehr sustained direct hits.

Iran retaliated with strikes on Israel’s Tel Aviv district, injuring 12. Airspace closures across the region left thousands of Indian nationals stranded in Gulf countries, prompting India’s Ministry of External Affairs to issue urgent advisories. With nearly one crore Indians living across the Gulf, New Delhi called for immediate de-escalation, confirming that PM Modi and Foreign Minister Jaishankar were actively engaging regional counterparts to safeguard Indian citizens.
