CJP’s Dipke and Saurav Das react on X as SC set to hear plea Tuesday

The central government on Monday approached the Supreme Court seeking to quash FIRs filed against protesters affiliated with the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), who had demonstrated at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and in other states over the NEET paper leak controversy. The FIRs stem from allegations of violence during these protests.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta mentioned the application before a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant, requesting the court exercise its extraordinary powers under Article 142 of the Constitution to quash the cases against the protesters. The matter is scheduled to be taken up by the apex court on Tuesday.

Reacting to the development, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke posted on X, sharing a photograph of himself holding a book authored by Dr B.R. Ambedkar. CJP leader Saurav Das also responded to the news with a selfie post on the same platform.

The case has drawn attention to the government’s stance on protest-related prosecutions tied to the broader NEET exam controversy.
