In Vadodara, PM says India’s youth is driven by ‘sach ki hunkaar’ amid Congress-led student outreach campaign
Vadodara, September 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took an apparent swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public gathering in Vadodara, saying India’s youth moves forward with the “resounding call of truth” rather than the “clamour of lies”.
Speaking at an event organised as part of the ‘NaMo for Viksit Bharat’ programme, Modi said those trying to mislead people could be found “at every street corner”, but the country’s young generation was committed to truth and progress.
“Jhooth ki goonj se farmaane waale toh har chaurahae par mil jaayenge, lekin Bharat ka naujawan sach ki hunkaar se chalta hai,” Modi said.
The remarks came against the backdrop of the ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ campaign associated with Rahul Gandhi and the Congress. The nationwide outreach has focused on concerns surrounding examinations, alleged question-paper leaks and irregularities, including issues raised during the NEET controversy.
Modi was in Vadodara to inaugurate, dedicate and lay foundation stones for development projects worth more than ₹35,000 crore. The event also highlighted Gujarat’s growing participation in rooftop solar power.
The prime minister said around 55 lakh families across India had installed rooftop solar plants, with 11 lakh of them in Gujarat. He said the expansion had not only helped families become electricity producers but had also generated employment across manufacturing, installation and servicing.
The Vadodara event also drew significant public interest. Organisers had opened free registration through BookMyShow, with officials saying all available seats were booked within an hour of the registration window opening.
