₹171 crore to benefit 8.55 lakh flood-affected farmers in Jammu and Kashmir

Srinagar, October 7 – Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the advance release of the 21st instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Scheme for farmers in Jammu and Kashmir.

In a post on X, LG Sinha wrote, “I am extremely grateful to Hon’ble PM @Narendramodi Ji and Hon’ble Union Minister @ChouhanShivraj Ji for the advance release of the 21st instalment of the PM-KISAN Scheme for the farmers of J&K UT.”

He added that around ₹171 crore will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of 8.55 lakh eligible farmers. The Lieutenant Governor said this assistance will help farmers sustain their livelihoods and recover agricultural activities after the recent floods, reaffirming the Centre’s commitment to rebuilding the affected regions.
