Mandhana’s 87 and Wareham’s 79 power RCB to victory; Delhi suffers fourth consecutive final defeat

Royal Challengers Bangalore secured their second Women’s Premier League title on Thursday, defeating Delhi Capitals by six wickets at Vadodara’s Kotambi Stadium. Chasing a formidable 204 runs, RCB completed the highest successful run chase in WPL final history with just two balls remaining.
Captain Smriti Mandhana led from the front with a brilliant 87-run knock, while Georgia Wareham contributed 79 runs. The duo forged a match-winning 165-run partnership off 92 deliveries. In a dramatic final over requiring 10 runs, Radha Yadav struck a boundary on the third ball before her bat hit the stumps while playing the fourth delivery—remarkably, the bails didn’t fall, and the ball crossed the boundary, sealing RCB’s victory.
Despite captain Jemimah Rodrigues’s 57 off 37 balls and valuable contributions from Laura Wolvaardt (44) and Shikha Pandey (35 not out), Delhi suffered their fourth consecutive final loss. RCB earned ₹6 crore prize money, while Delhi received ₹3 crore.
