Chhattisgarh’s State Investigation Agency (SIA) has filed a charge sheet against nine individuals before a special NIA court in Bilaspur, accusing them of operating as a clandestine Maoist urban network. The case, registered at Raipur’s DD Nagar police station in September 2025, unravelled after the arrest of Maoist divisional committee member Jaggu Kursam and his wife Kamla Kursam.
Subsequent interrogations exposed seven more suspects across Korba, Bilaspur, Narayanpur, and Bijapur. Investigators allege the accused disguised as urban labourers covertly relayed sensitive intelligence to Maoist cadres via electronic devices, while facilitating logistics including food, medicine, and transport for the banned organisation.
Seizures included gold biscuits, cash, laptops, mobile phones, and pen drives. The accused face charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). The next hearing is scheduled for March 20
