As diplomacy flickers in Islamabad and an Indian worker dies in Kuwait, Trump eyes Iran’s prized oil artery

Thirty days into a war that has reshaped the Middle East, the US-Israel conflict with Iran shows no sign of cooling and its shockwaves are now reaching Indian doorsteps. An Iranian missile strike on a Kuwaiti power and water desalination plant killed one Indian worker, with Kuwait’s electricity ministry confirming significant structural damage to the facility.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump, speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, declared that the month-long campaign had effectively delivered regime change in Tehran, and expressed confidence that a deal could follow “soon.” He also signalled intent to seize Kharg Island , Iran’s critical oil export terminal describing its capture as entirely within reach.

Pakistan has stepped forward as a mediator, announcing plans to host US-Iran talks after foreign ministers from Turkey, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia convened in Islamabad. Iran itself remains in a communications blackout, now entering its 30th consecutive day.
