Party names Ashok Mittal as replacement amid reports of Chadha’s absence from key political activities

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has replaced Raghav Chadha as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, appointing Ashok Mittal to the role. The decision was conveyed to the Upper House secretariat, according to reports.

Soon after the move, Chadha shared a video montage on social media highlighting issues he has raised in Parliament, including data costs, paternity leave, food safety and flight delays. However, he has not issued an official statement on his removal.

Sources suggest the change follows Chadha’s prolonged absence from key party events led by Arvind Kejriwal and his silence during crucial political developments. He was also away during Kejriwal’s arrest in 2024 and subsequent political campaigns.

Despite the reshuffle, Chadha continues to be active in Parliament, raising public interest issues. His future role within the party remains uncertain.
