Conflicting reports emerge on pilot’s fate as Tehran urges civilians to assist in capture

Iran has claimed that its forces shot down a second US fighter jet amid ongoing hostilities, intensifying tensions with the United States. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said an advanced aircraft, possibly an F-35 or F-15E, was struck over central Iran.

Iranian state media reported conflicting accounts about the pilot’s fate, with some suggesting he may have died in the crash, while others claimed he could have ejected or been captured. State television even urged civilians to help locate or detain the pilot, offering rewards for information.

The US has not officially responded to the claims. Reports also indicated American aircraft were seen conducting search operations in the region.

This marks the second such claim by Iran in recent weeks, raising concerns over a deepening military confrontation in the region.
