Lieutenant Governor hails LAHDC Leh for people-centric governance and reaffirms Centre’s commitment to Ladakh’s holistic growth.


Leh, October 30: Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, virtually inaugurated infrastructure projects worth ₹64 crore under the Special Development Package (SDP), marking another milestone in the region’s progress. The projects, envisioned by the 6th LAHDC Leh, include 35 new buildings comprising staff quarters, medical blocks, and laboratories benefiting multiple departments such as health, revenue, and education.
Congratulating the Hill Council and its Chairman Advocate Tashi Gyalson for completing their tenure, the LG lauded their dedication to improving public welfare and strengthening governance in Ladakh. He emphasised that these developments reflect the UT Administration and Government of India’s unwavering commitment to ensure inclusive growth across even the remotest corners of the Union Territory.
Highlighting the importance of tourism in boosting local livelihoods, the LG praised the Council’s efforts to expand the sector, including initiatives in border areas. He also urged timely handover of new staff quarters and stressed the need for reliable access to clean water and electricity for government employees stationed in remote regions.
