Actor urges women to embrace their bodies as Bollywood stars speak out against online criticism of Katrina’s appearance
Actor Sameera Reddy has spoken out in support of body positivity after Katrina Kaif faced online trolling over her appearance at the Ambani family’s Ganpati celebrations in Mumbai. Katrina, who welcomed her son in November 2025, was criticised for her post-pregnancy weight gain.
Sharing a reel on Instagram, Sameera urged women to love their bodies regardless of public opinion.
“Your body listens and needs you to love it back,” she wrote, addressing women across different stages of life, including new mothers and those who have faced years of judgement. She added, “Curvy – Beautiful – luscious YOU,” along with hashtags promoting body positivity and self-acceptance.
Sameera calls out appearance-based judgement
In an earlier conversation with a media house, Sameera defended Katrina and questioned the criticism surrounding her public appearance. She highlighted Katrina’s achievements as an actor and entrepreneur, saying that women should not be judged over a single photograph.
Sameera also stressed that a woman’s appearance is her own choice, regardless of her professional achievements or public profile.
Salman Khan criticises online trolls
Salman Khan also came out in Katrina’s support during an episode of Bigg Boss 20. He pointed out that weight gain after pregnancy is common and said Katrina should be allowed to spend time with her family before returning to films.
He also criticised people who use anonymous identities to comment on others’ bodies and appearances.
The backlash against Katrina has prompted several Bollywood personalities, including Hrithik Roshan and Parineeti Chopra, to speak against body-shaming and online trolling.
