President, Prime Minister and Home Minister pay tribute to the Indian Air Force’s courage, professionalism and service

New Delhi, October 8: President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah led the nation on Thursday in greeting air warriors, veterans and their families on the 94th anniversary of the Indian Air Force.
In a post on X, President Murmu praised the IAF for its exemplary service and its high standards of professionalism, discipline and readiness. She singled out Operation Sindoor, saying it had shown the courage, precision and operational preparedness of India’s air warriors. She also acknowledged the force’s role in disaster relief and humanitarian missions, calling its dedication a source of national pride.
Prime Minister Modi shared a video tribute to the force, saying India was proud of its air warriors and saluting their commitment to protecting the country’s skies.
Amit Shah described IAF personnel as “real-life bravehearts” and praised their valour, precision and striking power. He said their patriotism would inspire generations to come, and paid homage to the personnel who laid down their lives in service of the nation.
The Indian Air Force was formally established on October 8, 1932, and has since grown into one of the world’s largest air forces. Its role in Operation Sindoor in May 2025, India’s precision strikes on terror infrastructure following the Pahalgam attack, has added fresh significance to this year’s celebrations.
