Prime Minister Modi urges first-time voters to set new records as polling continues across 20 districts; exit polls to follow by evening

The final phase of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 began on Tuesday with a voter turnout of 14.5% recorded till 9 AM. Over 3.7 crore voters, including 1.74 crore women, are eligible to cast their votes across 45,399 polling stations in 20 districts. Polling started at 7 AM and will conclude at 5 PM.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to citizens to participate in large numbers, urging young and first-time voters to “inspire others” and set a new record in the concluding round. Bihar witnessed a record 64.66% turnout in the first phase on November 6, the highest ever in the state’s history.

Prominent candidates in this phase include former deputy chief ministers Tarkishore Prasad (Katihar) and Renu Devi (Bettiah), ex-speaker Uday Narain Choudhary (Sikandra), and several former ministers such as Vinay Bihari, Narayan Prasad, and Sunil Kumar Pintu. Constituencies like Kahalgaon, Mokama, and Valmiki Nagar remain key battlegrounds to watch.

Counting of votes will take place on November 14, while exit poll results are expected after 6:30 PM today. The verdict will determine whether Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s NDA retains power or Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD-led INDIA bloc stages a comeback.
