Intelligence inputs warn of IED plot in Chandni Chowk as Pakistan-based outfit allegedly seeks revenge for Islamabad mosque blast

Security forces across Delhi have been placed on high alert following credible intelligence inputs warning of a potential terror attack by Pakistan-based outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The threat, flagged by central agencies, specifically identifies a temple in the Chandni Chowk area, near the iconic Red Fort, as a possible target for an improvised explosive device (IED) strike.

According to intelligence sources cited by ANI and PTI, LeT is allegedly orchestrating the attack to avenge a February 6 blast at a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan. Authorities warn that other major temples across the country may also be at risk.

In response, Delhi Police and central agencies have swiftly intensified coordination, deploying bomb disposal squads, dog units, and quick reaction teams at vulnerable locations. CCTV surveillance has been heightened, and vehicle checks are underway across sensitive zones.

The alert follows a string of prior security warnings, including threats from Khalistani outfits and Bangladesh-based terror networks flagged ahead of Republic Day in January. Officials continue verifying the latest intelligence inputs while maintaining maximum vigilance across the capital.
