Neighbour identified as prime suspect remains at large as police intensify raids across multiple location

What began as an ordinary Friday evening in Sarita Vihar’s Aali Vihar locality unravelled into a harrowing discovery. A 35-year-old woman, Jyoti, and her six-year-old daughter were found murdered inside their home their bodies concealed within the box storage beneath a bed.
The grim find came when Jyoti’s husband returned home around 9:30 pm to find the gate locked from the inside. Two of his children sat helplessly outside, unattended. Growing increasingly alarmed, he forced open the gate. Inside, household items lay scattered yet nothing appeared stolen.
A thorough search led to the devastating discovery beneath the bed. Police were immediately alerted.
Post-mortem examination confirmed strangulation and smothering as the cause of death. Investigators have identified Deen Dayal, an accountant and a neighbour residing in the same building reportedly a nephew of the family as the prime suspect. He remains absconding.
A case has been registered under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Crime and Forensic Science Laboratory teams have collected evidence, and multiple police teams are actively conducting raids to apprehend the accused.
