Year-long RCMP probe into attacks on Langley auto dealership leads to seizure of firearms, fentanyl and cocaine

Toronto: Canadian police have arrested and charged five Indian nationals over alleged extortion and violence targeting an auto dealership in British Columbia, with one accused drawn back from India through a carefully planned operation.

The case, led by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s Langley detachment, began in June 2025 when the dealership’s co-owners reported heavy extortion demands. The business later faced two attacks involving arson and gunfire at its Surrey and Langley outlets.

Investigators identified 23-year-old Sanket Singla while he was in India. Working with immigration, border and international liaison officials, police engineered his return to Canada and arrested him at Toronto airport on October 1.

The other four, Sahil (24), Simranjeet Singh (24) and Harsh (21) of Surrey, and Jagdeep Singh of Ottawa, were arrested in Surrey and remain in custody. Charges include extortion, reckless firearm discharge, arson and illegal transfer of prohibited weapons.

Police seized four guns, ammunition and suspected fentanyl, cocaine and opium. They said evidence points to other suspects linked to extortion across British Columbia and Alberta.
