Award-Winning Indo-French Co-Production Marks Rahul Roy’s Comeback After Decade-Long Wait

Mumbai, September 30, 2025 – Kanu Behl’s critically acclaimed feature film ‘Agra’ will release across Indian theatres on November 14, 2025, following its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival’s Directors’ Fortnight 2023.

The Indo-French co-production, produced by Saregama India Ltd, UFO Production, and O28 Films, marks Behl’s second Cannes premiere after his debut ‘Titli’ (2014). The film has garnered multiple accolades including the Special Jury Award at MAMI 2023, Best Indie Film at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, and Best Film at the 2024 New York Indian Film Festival.

‘Agra’ features original Aashiqui star Rahul Roy in a powerful comeback role, alongside debutant Mohit Agarwal and Priyanka Bose from the Oscar-nominated film ‘Lion’. The film boldly explores sexual dynamics within a modern Indian family struggling for space and identity in a rapidly shrinking urban landscape.

Director Kanu Behl describes the film as “the toughest journey” of his life, hoping it sparks conversations about sexuality and societal spaces. Supported by the prestigious ‘Cinema du Monde’ film fund, this raw and unflinching drama promises to challenge conventions and linger long after viewing.
