Director General Shatrujit Kapur briefs on operational readiness and personnel welfare in high-altitude region

Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Director General Shatrujit Kapur, accompanied by Inspector General Akhoon Saberwal, met with the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh in Leh on February 4. The courtesy visit focused on critical border management issues and operational preparedness of ITBP personnel deployed across the Union Territory.

During the meeting, DG Kapur provided comprehensive updates on deployment strategies, welfare measures for border forces, and security challenges unique to high-altitude terrain. Discussions also covered coordination mechanisms between ITBP and civil administration to enhance border security effectiveness.

The Lieutenant Governor commended ITBP’s unwavering dedication to national security under extreme climatic and geographical conditions. He particularly praised the force’s dual role in border protection and disaster response operations, along with its community outreach initiatives benefiting local populations. Dr. L.
