UT aims for world-class winter sports facilities and sustainable adventure tourism year-round

Leh, October 6 – Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, has announced an ambitious plan to transform Ladakh into a world-class winter tourism and adventure sports destination. Chairing a high-level meeting with Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal and senior officials, Gupta reviewed proposals for installing chair lifts at Drass and surface ski lifts at Zanskar to enhance winter sports facilities and attract global adventure seekers.

He stressed sustainable development, modern infrastructure, and preservation of Ladakh’s unique natural and cultural heritage.
The LG also urged collaboration between government, private stakeholders, and local communities to promote Ladakh as a year-round adventure hub blending tourism, culture, and environmental responsibility.
