A child vanishes in broad daylight in Andhra Pradesh’s Madanapalle CCTV unmasks the predator living across the street

A seven-year-old girl was raped and murdered by her neighbour in Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh, in a crime that has shaken the community to its core. The child was reported missing by her family around 4 pm on Monday, triggering a police search that led investigators directly across the street to the accused’s home.
There, concealed inside a drum, lay the little girl’s body.
Kurnool Range DIG K Praveen confirmed the grim findings. “The cause of death is drowning, and there are signs of sexual assault. The accused killed the girl and concealed her body in a drum inside his house,” he told PTI. CCTV footage proved decisive in identifying the suspect, who lived opposite the victim’s family.
The revelation ignited fury across the locality. Hundreds gathered outside the accused’s residence demanding justice, while politically motivated elements allegedly inflamed tensions further even attacking the victim’s family members. Authorities deployed heavy police contingents to contain the volatile situation.
A case has been registered under murder, rape, and POCSO Act provisions. Investigations are ongoing
