At BrahMos missile flag-off in Lucknow, the Defence Minister declares India’s strategic dominance and hails Uttar Pradesh’s rise as a new defence and industrial powerhouse

Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday declared that “every inch of Pakistan lies within the range of BrahMos missiles”, calling Operation Sindoor “just a trailer” of India’s growing might. Speaking at the BrahMos Integration and Testing Facility in Lucknow, Singh, alongside chief minister Yogi Adityanath, flagged off the first batch of BrahMos missiles manufactured in Uttar Pradesh.

Singh said Operation Sindoor had proven that “victory has become a habit for India,” showcasing the missile’s precision, range, and deterrent power. “BrahMos has moved far beyond trials,it’s now the strongest testimony of India’s defence capability,” he asserted.

The minister praised the BrahMos unit as a model of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’, capable of producing 100 missiles annually with an expected turnover of ₹3,000 crore and GST revenue of ₹500 crore. He noted that contracts worth ₹4,000 crore had been signed with two nations, signalling India’s emergence as a global defence exporter.

Calling the day “doubly auspicious” as it coincided with Dhanteras, Singh said the BrahMos rollout symbolized prosperity through both “security and economy.”

He also inaugurated a Titanium and Superalloy Materials Plant at Lucknow’s PTC Industries, enabling India to indigenously produce rare defence-grade materials. “India is now a giver, not just a taker,” he said, adding that Uttar Pradesh is witnessing an industrial revolution, transforming from a region once known for lawlessness to one leading India’s defence manufacturing future.
