Left unrest grows as alliance partners fail to reach consensus after four days of talks

Patna | 10 October 2025.Even before the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) officially announced its seat-sharing plan, the CPI(M) on Thursday declared two of its candidates ,Satyendra Yadav from Manjhi and Ajay Kumar from Bibhutipur , who will file their nominations soon.

The move reflects growing unease within the Left bloc, as seat-sharing talks among Mahagathbandhan partners RJD, Congress, and Left parties (CPI, CPI(M), and CPI-ML) remain unresolved despite four days of continuous meetings.

Sources say frustration is highest among Left parties, whose claims on several constituencies remain stuck. Meanwhile, the alliance is expected to formally announce its seat distribution by tomorrow.

The CPI(M)’s early announcement is being seen as a pressure tactic to secure its share before larger allies finalize the deal.
