The actor, who appears as Lord Hanuman in the post-credit scene, lauds the film’s visual effects and urges audiences to watch it

Actor Sunny Deol has praised Ramayana Part 1, calling it better than many Hollywood films and urging audiences across India to watch the mythological epic.
In a video message shared on Instagram on Saturday, Deol said he thoroughly enjoyed the film and was impressed by its special effects. “This film is not less than any Hollywood film. But I would say it is better than them,” he said, adding that the visual effects transport viewers to the era depicted in the story.
Deol also appealed to people to support the film, describing it as a cinematic experience worth watching.
The actor has a special connection with the film. He makes a brief appearance as Lord Hanuman in its post-credit sequence, offering a glimpse of the character he is set to portray in the second instalment. Although his face is not fully revealed, the sequence shows Hanuman flying with his gada and invoking “Jai Shri Ram”.
The Hanuman Chalisa, performed by Diljit Dosanjh, Sukhwinder Singh, Mohit Chauhan, Kailash Kher and Anirudh Ravichander, plays in the background. The scene also offers a glimpse of Raghav Juyal as Meghnada, Ravana’s eldest son.
Hanuman’s appearance sets the stage for the next chapter of the epic, in which he plays a pivotal role in Rama’s search for Sita and the battle against Ravana. The second part is scheduled for release in 2028.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra and Yash, Ramayana Part 1 features Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The ensemble cast also includes Ravi Dubey, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Shobana and Kajal Aggarwal.
The first instalment traces Ravana’s backstory alongside Ram’s childhood, his marriage to Sita and the events leading to their exile and Sita’s abduction.
