LG hails J&K Police as agents of peace, progress and socio-economic development; calls sports a bridge of unity and courage

Srinagar | October 10, 2025:Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said that terrorism is breathing its last in Jammu and Kashmir, as peace has paved the way for “unparalleled progress and greater prosperity” in the region. Addressing participants at the 10th All India Police Judo Cluster (Men & Women) 2025, Sinha hailed the J&K Police for its role in ensuring peace, maintaining law and order, and driving socio-economic growth.

He noted that security across the country has significantly improved, and the “roots of left-wing extremism have been dismantled,” enabling India’s rapid economic rise. Commending the police, army, and CAPFs for their coordinated efforts, the LG stressed on intelligence-based operations and a multi-dimensional approach to internal security.

Highlighting the power of sports, Sinha said it fosters “collective identity, camaraderie, courage, and inclusivity.” He urged youth to channel their talent towards nation-building, adding that events like the Judo Cluster “celebrate unity in diversity and India’s cultural heritage.”

The championship, hosted by J&K Police, features over 2,000 athletes competing in Judo, Wushu, Pencak Silat, Taekwondo, and Karate. Senior police officials, sports associations, and youth attended the event.
