Patralekhaa defends Rajkummar Rao’s dramatic appearance change, highlighting the unseen dedication behind character preparation
Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao recently made headlines when his striking physical transformation at the Bolti Khidkiyaan Short Film Festival sparked widespread discussion online. The actor’s weight gain and altered hairstyle caught many by surprise, prompting speculation across social media platforms.
Patralekhaa, Rao’s wife, has now publicly addressed the conversation, expressing unwavering support for her husband’s commitment to his craft. Sharing his post on Instagram Stories, she wrote: “So proud of you… The world doesn’t see the process and hard work that an actor puts into developing a character.” She emphasized that beneath the glamour lies “blood, sweat, tears, and the sacrifice of personal life.”
Rao himself clarified that the transformation is intentional part of his preparation for upcoming projects, particularly the biopic Nikam. The actor explained his philosophy: “I’m not a believer in prosthetic as long as I can achieve the look through my hardwork.”
This isn’t Rao’s first dramatic physical change. He previously transformed for roles in Trapped, Srikanth, and Bose, demonstrating consistent dedication to authentic character portrayal through natural physical modification rather than artificial enhancements.
