The Varanasi co-stars share an early mutual admiration moment as PC’s pirate thriller lands on streaming

Before they share the screen in SS Rajamouli’s most anticipated epic, Mahesh Babu is already cheering Priyanka Chopra from the sidelines.

Taking to X on Sunday, the Telugu superstar heaped praise on Priyanka’s performance in The Bluff, the period pirate action-thriller now streaming globally. “Swashbuckling and ticking all the boxes with a packed performance,” he wrote, calling the film “well mounted with engaging action and emotions.”

Critics have echoed the sentiment. While The Bluff itself drew mixed reviews, Priyanka’s portrayal of the fierce, layered Mary earned near-universal praise — particularly for threading raw brutality with genuine humanity, a rare combination in the hyperviolent action genre.

Directed by Frank E. Flowers and co-starring Karl Urban and Ismael Cruz Córdova, the film marks Priyanka’s boldest international outing yet a timely warm-up before her much-awaited Bollywood homecoming in Rajamouli’s Varanasi, slated for April 2027
