On World Mental Health Day, Deepika Padukone launches ‘Featured Closets’, with the Olympic medallist as its first guest curator

Mumbai, October 10: Fans of PV Sindhu can now own a piece of the badminton star’s career while supporting mental health care. On World Mental Health Day, actor Deepika Padukone announced ‘Featured Closets’, a new charity initiative, with Sindhu as its first guest curator.
Sindhu’s personal jerseys, jersey sets and dresses are on sale at DeepikaPadukone.com/Closet, priced between ₹850 and ₹1,100. All proceeds go to The Live Love Laugh Foundation (TLLLF), which Padukone founded in 2015 to reduce stigma around mental illness and widen access to care.
The initiative grows out of The Deepika Padukone Closet, launched seven years ago, in which fans buy pieces from the actor’s own wardrobe to fund the foundation. ‘Featured Closets’ will now invite figures from sport, entertainment and public life to donate pre-loved items. The money will support TLLLF’s programmes, helplines and awareness campaigns.
Padukone, who welcomed her second child on September 19, praised Sindhu’s resilience, grace and grit. Sindhu said athletes are often assumed to be mentally tough, but talking about their struggles matters just as much. She hoped the initiative would encourage openness and empathy.
Padukone’s advocacy dates back to 2014, when she publicly spoke about her clinical depression diagnosis. Few Indian celebrities had done so at the time.
